Job Summary
The Career Counsellor will provide individualized career guidance, coaching, and support to students and working professionals in technology and related fields. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others identify their career goals, build marketable skills, and achieve professional growth through personalized counseling and resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one career counselling sessions to assess goals, skills, and aspirations.
- Assist clients in developing career action plans, resumes, LinkedIn profiles, and job search strategies.
- Guide clients in exploring upskilling options such as certifications, bootcamps, and career transitions (e.g., into AI, data, or cloud roles).
- Deliver workshops and webinars on topics like interview preparation, networking, and career advancement.
- Collaborate with training teams to align career advice with current tech market trends.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and feedback.
- Stay updated on industry hiring trends and employer expectations.
- Support diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in all counselling practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Career Counselling, Psychology, HR, Education, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in career coaching, counselling, or placement services.
- Knowledge of current job market trends, especially in tech and digital careers.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Proficiency in using career tools (LinkedIn, job boards, resume builders, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s in Counselling or Career Development.
- Experience working with early-career professionals or transitioning tech workers.
- Familiarity with Azure, AI/ML, or data career paths.
